12-year-old arrested with a gun

A 12-year-old boy was arrested with a gun on Chicago’s West Side Tuesday night, marking at least the third report of armed children on the city’s streets in recent weeks.

Responding to a call of a person with a gun, officers arrested the boy in the city’s Lawndale neighborhood. He’s being charged as a juvenile with unlawful use of a weapon, according to the Chicago Tribune.

It’s just one of three reported incidents of kids flashing or using guns since late last month.

Last weekend, Chicago police issued a community alert about a string of robberies in the city’s Bronzeville neighborhood, just south of the Loop. Between three and nine offenders committed about a dozen robberies throughout the area last month.

“In the most recent incident, occurring on June 29th, a reported six to eight-year-old black male offender displayed a silver handgun and demanded money,” said the alert from police.

That boy remains at large, as are the rest of the offenders in those incidents, who range in age from 6 to 20.

Also last weekend, a video surfaced on Facebook of a boy carrying what appeared to be a gun in his jacket pocket. At first, police thought that boy might have been involved in the Bronzeville robberies. But they later identified the boy, and determined the gun in his pocket was fake “with an orange rubber tip.”

That gun was a $16.00 special when it was new in the 1970s. It was always out of time and very dangerous to the user as well. The Chicago street gangs use children in robberies and murders because they know they can literally get away with murder without long sentences or the death penalty, thanks to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling.

No, I’d say that their parents, both of them, should be convicted of not properly caring for their own children! This would include non paying, non married, fathers of children whom fathered them! Too many women are stuck with caring for children while trying to earn enough to keep them and their children from starvation. On the other hand women whom become pregnant by willingly allowing males to inseminate them should be made to confess the father, and on a second, be made unable to be inseminated to pregnancy any more! There are too many children today who’s fathers either don’t know or don’t care what happens to them and their mothers! There are too many women whom allow themselves to be inseminated without carring how they will support their offspring!
This is what becomes a nation whom no longer cares about it’s citizens and is progressive towards immorality! Expect more of the same until this is truly realized!

The kiddy camp is fine until 16 then finish the life sentence in max security. If you murder it’s life I don’t care how old you are.

    • Tom

I don’t believe you can fix the problem, it’s too deep now. Obozo accomplished everything he set out to do. He destroyed the entire world, not just America.

    I wonder why?

Without reviewing the following statements, I’d say that this incident is likely due to the lack of policing in Chicago, and persons are attempting to guarantee their own safety! The upset feelings should be against a reluctant police policy and city and county law makers. I would guess that there is so much graft going on that there is little hope of meaningful legislation and enforcement there of!
