Gun Shop Owner Won’t Sell To People Under 21

The owner of a Bellevue, Washington gun shop has made it policy to refuse to sell rifles to those under the age of 21 unless they have military training.

Jason Cazes, owner of Low Priced Guns, has made both national and local news over his recent stance not to sell rifles to most potential buyers under 21 years old. He cautions that he isn’t against selling AR-15s, just that he doesn’t want to sell them or any rifle to those under the self-imposed age limit, established by the gun shop owner after a 19-year-old in Florida used a rifle in a school shooting last week that killed 17.

“Even if it helps five percent less people doing crazy from people who aren’t mature enough to handle these sort of weapons, then that’s worth it,” Cazes said. “But on the other side, I want my right to own this (AR-15) as an adult. That is my choice of what I want to defend myself and my family with.”

The store’s social media account has been flooded with posts by gun rights advocates in opposition to the move.

Sounds like a lawsuit coming against him.

    • Ursus_Indomitus

      It will fail.

      • beltedmagnum

Might not stick but a boycott will do him in

        • Ursus_Indomitus

How many boycotting kids will damage his business? I won’t buy from him. He has the right to destroy his own business. Unfortunate for his employees, though.

  • pappy450

That is infringing on the 2nd Amendment rights of an AMERICAN CITIZEN. He CAN, and more than likely WILL be sued.

BUT what do you expect from a “liberal”, “progressive” DEMOCOMMUNIST State??

    • Ursus_Indomitus

His store, his rules. Might help, might not. If YOU want kids to buy
guns, YOU open a store and sell to them. He’s not taking away their
      rights, he’s excercising his own.

      • pappy450

I guess you think 18 years old is still a ‘kid”..A “kid” that is old enough to be called upon to put his ASS on the line for this country if called upon, be forced to carry a weapon that is “similar” to the one used in the “shooting” and you want to DENY him HIS constitutional rights? THINGS WOULD CHANGE, If PARENTS would teach RESPONSIBILITY to their children today instead of leaving it to their “LIBERAL COMMUNIST INDOCTRINATORS” (teachers and professors”) or just letting them run wild in the streets, this country would be a LOT better. As a “KID” of 17 and then 18, I had shotguns and high-powered rifles in a rack in my pickup (in plain sight) parked in school, because after class, I was headed for deer camp. “Back then” the teachers would come out to have a look at what you had, because BACK THEN most hunted also. (oh how times have changed) He may be “exercising “his rights” BUT it STILL goes against the Constitution, so HE like many COMMIECRATS are picking and choosing what LAWS he will, and will not follow. I guess he thinks he is barack hussein OSCUMBAG. BTW, Please tell THAT to the “wedding cake bakers” that got their BUTTS SUED for exercising “THEIR RIGHTS” to “refuse service” to “GAYS” they didn’t agree with because of THEIR “beliefs” . They are no longer in business (because the “gays” won) and I believe that is where THIS dude is headed if he keeps this crap up.

        • Ursus_Indomitus

Macht Nichts. His store his rules,as he is an AMERICAN CITIZEN. If I had a store, I might not sell to YOU because you seem to be a totalitarian cantankerous old asshole.

          • L Cavendish

but if you don’t want to sell to gays you will be sued…go figure

          • Ursus_Indomitus

There ya go. Leftists must HANG.

        • Chigirl

He said the exception would be those with military experience. Read it again before going off half cocked. You’re part of the problem.

          • pappy450

Is this stated in our CONSTITUTION??? I THINK NOT. SO he will be going against the WRITTEN LAW (because he doesn’t “AGREE” with it.) JUST like any COMMIECRAT.
BTW tell that “story” to the people that owned the baking shop and lost their BUTTS to a “gay” couple that sued them because they didn’t want to bake a “gay cake”. No difference..business owner, still got SUED. PERIOD.

          • Ursus_Indomitus

The Constitution is a list of restrictions on the GOVERNMENT, not the private citizen, Get some information before you pop off. You make yourself look silly.
As for the gay cake crap, blame the broken justice system. Shakespeare was right.

        • Larry Shriver

What this guy maybe hasn’t stopped to consider is that by refusing to sell rifles to anyone under 21 is that he might also be losing out on the sales of ammunition, a gun case, and myriad other things that would go with that particular gun……………..targets, a scope, sling, and maybe any repeat sales because most people would return to where they are treated well.

          • pappy450

I just read in Illinois, “children” under the age of 21 that bought rifles LEGALLY before, are now either going to turn them in or be “arrested” .
If this is the “thinking” then perhaps we need the VOTING AGE “upped” to 21. as these “Children” are not “responsible” enough to be trusted to own a GUN, they CERTAINLY are not “responsible” enough to know who they want to “represent them”.

    • Chigirl

I’m a liberal but I own guns and wouldn’t hesitate to use one especially to protect myself against know it all aggressive men. No he won’t be sued! It’s his store and his choice!

      • pappy450

A “LIBERAL” GUN OWNER” what an OXYMORON for sure. I thought all you “liberals” hated guns. LOL!

        • Ursus_Indomitus

They hate whatever suits them at any given time. Subject to change without notice or logic or facts.

          • bjensen

            Much like Conservatives

          • Ursus_Indomitus

            Nice projection, asshole.

      • Ursus_Indomitus

        Sexist commie bitsch.

  • Rick

    AND THE BEAT GOES ON……..

    • Ursus_Indomitus

Didn’t some old bitch named Chair say that once?

  • Wade

It is nonsense. You aren’t mature enough to buy alcohol until you’re 21. You can’t buy a firearm until 21. But, we’ll let you vote and go to war at 18. Alright then, no vote, no military or marriage until you grow up at 21. How about that???

    • Steven Earle

Fine with me but Hey, I’m 75 and think anyone under 40 is suspect. Just kidding.

    • Ursus_Indomitus

That’s a whole different thing. And has NOTHING to do with the store owner.

      • pappy450

NONSENSE..It has EVERYTHING to do with “rights” granted by the Constitution. I see nothing written that states in the BILL OF RIGHTS and CONSTITUTION (if you are ONLY 18 you cannot purchase a gun). Hell I bought one at 16, and had no “thoughts” about shooting up a school. “Back then” we were brought up with SENSE, Now these brats are looking for their 15 minutes of “fame” thanks to the way the MEDIA is sensationalizing their actions. VIOLENT Video games depicting police and pedestrians being killed for high “point counts” doesn’t help much either.

        • Ursus_Indomitus

I don’t have to extend ANY right to you as a private citizen. Rights pertain to the government restrictions on what they can do. Rights are NOT GRANTED by the Constitution. Government is restricted as to what they can restrict. Rights are given by God.

          • L Cavendish

and yet the 2nd is highly infringed upon in some states…hmmm

          • Ursus_Indomitus

Too true. I live in the People’s “Republic” of KKKommieforniastan. You don’t have to tell ME.

    • FLHTCU

I like the idea of not being allowed to run for office in DC without a DD-214, myself..

  • Maggie

    Seems illegal to me

    • Ursus_Indomitus

I’m as pro 2A as you can get. I also support citizen’s rights in their businesses. It’s not as if he’s blocking them from buying firearms. They can go elsewhere, just as the fags can go to a bakery that supports fag stuff.

      • Maggie

Can’t argue with that. It just seems like they are blocking a constitutional right. Granted, we have as society, limited that to an age and he seems to be limiting it within his viewpoint. Not really right or wrong but, I see a slippery slope and a whole lot of grey area.

        • Ursus_Indomitus

          True enough.

  • Steven Earle

Should be his choice as a business decision. As I understand it a gun dealer has desecration on sales when there is a question about the buyer.

    • pappy450

THAT is what a NICS “check” we had shoved down our throats is for.

      • GomeznSA

True enough, but the libs want to enhance or is it ‘fix’ NICS. The problem currently with the system is that the information being put into is subject to human error – afaik all of the failures have been due to the proper data NOT being input.

        • pappy450

commiecrats do NOT want to “fix nics” they just want all of the Law-abiding citizens that own firearms, to be disarmed and HELPLESS, for easy “CONTROL” and “slaughter” when the feel the time is right.
This has happened throughout history… mao, pol-pot, hitler, stalin, the “first step” is the disarmament of the citizens, then “take them out”. Look it up …THAT IS…. IF you can find an old “history book” that hasn’t been “revised” by the commiecrats.

    • GomeznSA

Agreed, something about having the right to refuse service to anyone. Oh wait, that hasn’t worked out too well for some bakers lately.
I suspect that you meant discretion but it ‘could’ become a desecration, should someone sue him for capricious and arbitrary business practices.

      • Steven Earle

Yup, spell check betrayed my secret. Terrible speller.

  • Ursus_Indomitus

His store, his rules. Might help, might not. If YOU want kids to buy guns, YOU open a store and sell to them. He’s not taking away their rights, he’s excercising his own.

  • David dkoppyus

He is the owner and this should be his right to do, I don’t agree with his thinking for all rifles, but I do defend his right to do so. If it was me and felt the need, maybe only sell with a parent present and approval.

  • james jeffreys

    His store,his investment,his choice!!!!

    • dave

& the baker who didn’t want to make a wedding cake for a gay couple, gets find & closes up ????

  • Alan404

Seems like the proprietor would be within their rights, legally speaking, though no doubt some would say otherwise.

  • L Cavendish

cake maker can’t decide not to sell to gays…this guy makes his own laws…hmmmm

  • Dean57

Changing the age of rifle purchase to 21 is asinine. Most soldiers are 18 years old when they enlist. As a matter of fact the right to vote was changed to 21 with the reasoning being if they can fight for the country as an 18 year old they should be able to vote as an 18 year old.
It was not the purchase of the guns which was the issue. The issue was the lack of action by law enforcement as they had gone to his house a multitude of times. Not once with a search warrant nor did they ask the owner if they could search the house. The FBI ignore and law enforcement ignore the social media warnings that Cruz was dangerous.
No it was not his purchase of guns it was the lack of action by law enforcement.

    • Ursus_Indomitus

No, the vote was lowered to 18 so the Dems could get MORE MORONS to vote for them. PERIOD.

  • shooterg

I can choose who to sell my property to. He has the same right. “Course, if I was a current customer, I would now be a FORMER customer.

    • Larry Shriver

Yeah, perhaps some of you will remember seeing a sign that says ” WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE ” in businesses like cafes, bars, etc.

  • Bandido13

It is funny how the sheeple like to get pulled and pushed around by “their” government. These ‘representatives’ could care less about your safety. They only care about their own financial gain and a$$. Wake up citizens!

    • Ursus_Indomitus

      Government is NOT your friend.

  • Gwen Gilbert

I believe Some of the reports said that the shooter in Florida DID have military training!!!

    • Bandido13

      Junior ROTC

  • 48dodge

The world has changed for the worse. In 1959, I was 12 years old and I bought a Marlin Golden 39A with no background check, just a phone call from the store to my dad to see if it was okay. I still have the Marlin and soon my grandson will get it.

  • generalJed

I bought my first three guns at eighteen, while I was about to be drafted by the U.S. Army. It is amazing how countries like ours want you to pick up arms while you are 18, but deny you your rights after you return home from battle, The Democrats hate veterans, and would like to see veterans of all ages disarmed.
