New Theme Park is Exciting Gun Enthusiasts – But Anti-Gunners Hate It
Orlando, Florida has become the Mecca of theme parks. People come from all over the world to enjoy gorgeous beaches, warm weather, and tourist attractions like Disney World and Universal Orlando. Now there is a brand new attraction, and it is causing lots of controversy. Gun enthusiasts love it, and anti-gun advocates are speaking out against it.
Machine Gun America (MGA) provides an opportunity for visitors to fire automatic weapons that are not available to the general public, all under the supervision and support of highly trained instructors.
Predictably, groups like Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense are speaking out against the park. Spokesperson Lucia Kay McBath says:
You’ve got Holy Land right there in Orlando. You’ve got Disney World, and Epcot. All places for family fun where they should feel protected.
Despite the criticism, however, most local residents support the park. In a poll that asked, “Do you think it’s okay to allow kids as young as 13 to handle high-powered machine guns?” a full 76 percent replied “Yes.”
